Lot's of FO's!

I have been busy! I knit all of this in under 2 weeks. Ok ok...it took me a few weeks to finish the shawl...but come on! All that garter was taking its toll on me! I had to take a break from it.

I am doing a Craft Fair starting in May. I have knit 4 mug cozy's so far and plan on making more. But with all that k1,p1 I had to work on other things to save my brain! lol

This is my Wingspan. It is knit with Zauberball. It is a single ply yarn. Please do not let me buy any more single ply yarn. I dislike knitting with it. But I love the way it came out! I still need to block it.

These are Baby Legwarmers. They will be for the Craft Fair. I will knit more of these! I hope they are a big hit. I know it will be summer time when I am selling these but I hope folks will buy them for christmas gifts.

This is my newest item on the needles. A second pair of Baby Legwarmers. They are being knit with 2 scrap yarns. I know the yarn at the top is one from Joann's. (If I think of the brand I will tell ya when there done.) I have a little more done on them since taking this picture. There great tv knitting!

Well that is all I have been up to. I guess I will end this here and get back to my movie (Narnia..the 2nd one) and work more on my second pair of Baby Legwarmers.

A lot has happened!

Hi everyone. A lot has happened since my last entry. I live in a new place & I moved back to my home town. I stopped my video podcast a while back. I took up tatting,tho i'm not to good at it yet. I am preparing for a craft fair that starts in May. On the health front I am about to starting taking shots for my diabetes.

So as you see many things have changed. But I am ready to start blogging again!

Right now I am in a knitting slump. I have had a basic bib on the needles for about 4 days. just don't want to work on it. ugh But I think tonight I will sit down,pop in a good movie and try to get it done.

I jumped on the G+ bandwagon when it came out. I am glad I did because I am part of a great knitting hangout group! We get together every day. We have "FO finishing weekends","CO weekends" and "PJ Sundays"! Everyone there is knitters/crocheters. If your on G+ add me as a friend and let me know your a knitter or crocheter and I would be happy to send you an invite to the hangout.

Well that's all for now. I'm going to search the web and try to find a new tatting pattern to try. (if you know anything about tatting and know a good site for learners please let me know.i needle and shuttle tat...I prefer needle.)

New Storage!

Hi everyone! Sorry I am just now posting again. But my last few days in Fl was busybusy!

Anyways....

I have been going crazy with the way my room looks. I needed storage! But after that FL. vacation I shouldn't spend the money for storage options.So I brought up the subject with my FIL. (He built his own porch.) I showed him pictures of what I wanted and he said he could do it.

This morning the hubby and I got up early and went with the FIL to the lumber yard to price it. $32 for all the supplies! Score!! I bought the stuff on the spot and stopped by the Dollar General store for a few items on our way home.

Once we was home the hubby drawed my idea on paper and we figured up placement of boards and such.

Then the men folk got to work.

Ofcourse they needed my help!

hahahaThe dogs agreed with me!

Once it was done they was more than happy to put it in my room for me to put my special items on!

Now I have my knitting/spinning odds and ends all in one place! I also found my Darning Needles that I thought I left in FL! WOOT

Now if only I could get the rest of my room fixed! lol This hobby obession is taing over my room! O.O...But I could have worse obessions. ;)

Vacation:Day Three in Orange Park Florida!

Today was a great day! Even the rain didn't stop me! Since it was raining it was only in the 50's and I got to wear my Clapotis. YAY

My first stop today was A Stitch in Time. It is not a true yarn store but in the back they have a good selection of yarn for knitting/crocheting. Tho there knitting needle rack needs some sorting.

I kind of over did it at the yarn store. lol

The hubby had a rumble in his belly after the yarn store so we ended up trying the pizza place in the same shopping center as BAM.

It was good! But lacking in sauce.
All in all we would eat there again if we lived here.
I forgot this the other day! I got it at BAM in the Orange Park Mall.

Vacation:Day two in Orange Park Florida!

Hi all. Today was kind of a slow day. Nothing fancy to show. We went to the mall down the road. I needed to shop for my cousin Katie.Her birthday is the end of this month.She will be 15 y/o. YIKES Any drivers in North GA beware...she will be driving and shes crazy!! ;)

On our way out I decided to snap a pic of our

hotel from the back side where we park.Our room over looks the CLOSED pool.

As you can see it is not very deep in the "deep" end.

While I was at the mall I decided I wanted some nails. I love having them but can't grow my own.(my nails are thin)

I remembered just now that I never posted that I got my nose done a while back!

Today while I was at the mall I got a new nose ring! I love it!

After all this we came back to the room and took a nap. I was going to go to knit night at Knitwitz but I over slept. So to make up for it hubby treated me to TGIF Fridays and a movie.The only thing we could agree on was Tangled. I wasn't looking forward to seeing it....but in the end it was great! Also we was the only ones in there and could talk and yell at the movie! lol

But now we are back to the hotel and I feel the need to shower and lay down to un-swell my feet. So have a great night/day.

Vacation:Day one in Orange Park Florida!

Today started our vacation to Florida. We made it to the state line at 9am this morning. Every year when I went on vacation with family we would stop here and take our picture at this sign. So of course I had to do it when we passed it!
Once we got into our room in Orange Park and took a break we headed out to go to a yarn shop...of course! When we got to the long bridge I just had to take a picture. I love this bridge! BUT I put the window down to take a picture and my directions to the yarn store went right out the window! OMG Thank goodness I remembered that the Barnes and Nobles that we was also going to was only 1 exit away.So we went there and asked for directions. ;)We made it to the yarn store!It wasn't super easy to spot but we got there none the less.I enjoyed talking to the store owner.Tho I didn't get her name. (Sorry about that) She invited me to come to there knit night tomorrow. I might take her up on it if we don't plan anything else.

As for now I am going to play a little more online then call it a night.(I have been up since 4am this morning.)

Octopus?!

Yes you read that right...Octopus! Last night for an early supper I wanted to put a twist on a favorite meal of ours. So I thought Octopus would change it up and add some fun to the meal.

But I do not eat seafood. So these was not what you think they are. These was made of HOT DOGS! You take raw hot dogs and cut them in half. Then cut an X at the end where you cut the hot dog in half. After that you just cook them as normal. When they are done the cut end will curl up and look like a 4 legged octopus!

My twist on a Bento Box.

Rice,Peas,Turkey Sausage,Boiled Potatoes and Octopus Hot dogs.

This is 2 servings.

Octopus hot dogs are also fun for kids! Kids love to treat them like chicken nuggets and dip them! Ok so hummm so do I! ^.^


On the knitting front I have secret knitting on the needles! hehehe Soon I will reveal what it is!

Catching up

WoW That week flew by! Where did it go?

I think I have gotten hooked on doll collecting.I purchased a Barbie (did you know they had ones where you can change there heads?! I didn't!!).I also got a Liv doll. (I had never heard of that one before..but then again I have no kids or cousins that liked dolls.)

I spent last week trying to design clothes and stuff for them...let's just say I didn't get to much made. lol I can't work out how to make clothes in my head for some reason.(not pictured is a hat and cowl)

1 shawl,2 scarfs and a blanket.

Besides this I haven't done anything else crafty.It's been a slow week.

Till today that is! I have cast on something big! I have made it before and enjoyed it.Tho I made a change to it last time that I didn't like.So this time I am NOT going to change the pattern at all! I want this one to be right!

Once I get some good work on it I will post it here for you all to see.

I have been reading more tho! I read Dead(ish). It was only 100 pages but it was cute! (it is free from bn.com for Nook download!) There is a 2nd book to it but I forget the name. (it is 99 cents on bn.com for the nook) This payday I am going to buy it for sure!

Right now I am reading Evermore. It is a good book also!I am 1/2 done with it already. Tomorrow I go to the library and check out Fat Vampire! Yes you read that right "FAT" vampire! I downloaded the sample to see if it was something I might like....it is...well as far as the sample would let me read that is. I hope the book will be good just like the sample. ;)

I guess you see my Etsy shop isn't open. I have decided it's not worth it.The fees are to high and them taking more money every time you make a sale is crazy! I would be losing to much money. So I am working on cleaning my Artfire shop up and redoing it. I have TONS of stuff on sale in my shop! Check it out wont you?! ^.^

A day full of fun!

Today the hubby had light duty to do at Labor Finders. I wanted out of the house so I went with him.I dropped him off at work just before 8am and got his check to deposit at the bank.
Well the bank didn't open till 9 so I sat in the car and knitted till it opened.After that I went to the Library which is a block away. I had time to kill till 1pm so I had a friend and her daughter meet me there at 10.She is learning how to spin with her drop spindle and she needed some help.

I had a great time talking with her and helping her. In the end she was not drafting it thin enough and she was putting to much twist into it. But we got that all sorted out.I told her now I wanted to spin but didn't have any roving.I would have to buy some when I got home...she told me as a ty for helping I could have one of her batts of fiber! O.o So now I got some pretty Pink,Gray and brown colored roving to play with this weekend! Keep an eye out for a Spinning post soon.

After almost 2 hours of chatting it up she had to go.So I played around on the net and knitted till almost 1. Then I got the hubby and grabbed a bit to eat. (we hadn't had anything since supper last night. oops)

Tomorrow I plan on going with him again and hanging out at the Library alone. I tend to get lots of knitting done there. ;) But after I get him I have to take him to his 1st Physical Therapy appointment. I hope this helps his back so he can go back to really working and take the corset off..he hates that thing! lol

Yesterday the power bill came in and was almost $500! O.o The mil and us talked and we can't stay in the living room as much anymore since we are trying to heat a HUGE room with a little heater. So we started giving her $100 a month to go towards the power.But we have moved back to the bedroom.But we set up work areas so we can do our thing. ;) We have a gas heater in this room and its smaller so we should be good.

On the crafting front I tried my hand at something new tonight. I made a small doll/barbie quilt! All on my own! I am sooo happy! I like the look of it and the MIL side she liked it to!
I am going to open my Etsy store back up and put my sewn items in it. :) Tomorrow I will blog the link to it so you all can see it. I might get another one made today...but I'm not sure. Either way my shop will open tomorrow.

Lazy Sunday's and BJD!

Today is a slow day. It has been spent sitting on the couch with my husband and watching Torchwood. I have also bee chatting it up on the Ravelry boards.

I am interested in getting a BJD. I saw one a few months ago in person and I really liked it. The only problem is these dolls are $150 and way up. Not in my price range.

In the knitting world I am working on a mini blanket and tomorrow I will be casting on a sock. I made 1 sock some time ago and never got around to casting on its mate.Tho I am not sure I want to make its mate.I forget what needles size I used for the 1st sock.I don't want to make the other sock bigger or smaller than the 1st one. I guess I will sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.

2011 E-Book Reading Challenge

I have just found out about the 2011 E-Book Reading Challenge.I had promised myself right before 2011 started that I would read at least 5 books in 2011. Now this is how I can do it and keep track of it.

I am #246 on the list to join!

The Challenge has different levels. 5 Books isn't an option and I do not want to sign myself up for 6 books since I am also doing the 52in52 deal. So I vow to complete the "Curious" level..that is 3 books.

Hey I know 3 books isn't a lot.But when in the past I am lucky to read 1 book a year...3 is a big deal. ;)

I do not know what books I will read.I am reading a few books right now that I need to finish. I am NOT going to count those since they was started MONTH's ago.

2011!!!!

Welcome 2011! I know I am 7 days late...but at least it's still January. LOL

I have vowed to blog at least once a week for 52 weeks! Not just 52 posts..but 1 post every week for 52 weeks! So here is my 1st blog entry.

To catch you up I have entered 52 in 52 in 2011 on Ravelry.So far I am at 2.

Week 1 was some Coasters.My goal was to knit 2 of them.I do want more but am not worried if 2 is all I have.So I called them done.

Week 2.....drum roll please.....SOCKS! I loved knitting them.But man...that sure was a lot of purling.I decided to change up the heels and toes.I needed a break from the purling.

Right now there is NOTHING on the needles.But I am sure I will fix that problem tomorrow. ;) Well it's late and I am sleepy.So good night friends.Please don't forget to leave a message that you read my post and if you talk to me please remind me to blog. Thanks

Saturday already?

Wait! Where did the rest of the week go? How can it already be Saturday? I had plans on blogging sooner than this.I really did.

Oh well. What matters is that I DO blog. So here I go.

I have been a mad woman with crocheting. The big snowman that I made I gave to my MIL. She has it stilling on the kitchen table. :) I think she likes it.

I crocheted a smaller snowman for my swap partner.(no pictures right now..I don't want to spoil the surprise.)

I made a sale in my Artfire shop. It was a dice bag. So I crocheted 2 more. They will be added to my shop tomorrow. Here is a sneak preview for just my readers.

I am working on more bags right now. I think the D&D/role playing folks are finding them at last. :) YAY

Flying Fingers

My fingers have been flying this week! I love knitting and crocheting. Esp if it is fast to make items. lol Only problem I have is finding something to knit that I like that is free.

Dragonfly Socks

The yarn is Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy Socks. I purchased it from Creative Yarns in Macon when I went to visit family a few months ago.I knit these on 2 circs at the same time. I did the ribbing cuff on 1,then done the ribbing cuff on the 2nd one and so forth. It was nice to have 2 done socks at the same time. It does not bother me that they do not match! I love them. I can't wait to wear them. The yarn was a joy to work with.

Amigurumi Snowman

This is for someone.But I can not say who. (no one on Plurk) I hope the person likes it! It is a bit bigger than I was hoping but oh well. ;) I hate piecing these things together but I can't stop making Amigurumi items.

Lazy Sunday

Today has been a a very slow paced kind of day. I like it.

Tho we did sleep in this morning. That was because we stayed up till 6am. We wasn't sleepy! So I watched Netflix and the hubby played World of Warcraft. ;)

So yesterday I finished the Nephew's hat. I really hope he likes it.

It will look better on him than it does here. lol

Since finishing the hat I can not find anything else that I would like to knit. *sigh* I do have a shawl,hood and socks going.But I want something different to do. But 3 hours of searching on Ravelry gave me nothing. (Free pattern search) So I am working on the socks. I think I am going to frog the hood and use the yarn for something else. I will never wear the thing and I have no one to gift it to.So it will just be a waste of yarn.

I am going to do a KAL with my friend Megan. We will both be knitting Lacewing. I don't think I have enough lace weight but I will see. If not mine will be knit in fingering weight and be a bit bigger.

Which is good for me some all the other shawls I have knit have been to small for me. So it could be a blessing. ;)

My friends I come to you with an Finished Object!

Warm Around You (yarn is prettier in person...but its midnight almost so picture taking isn't great right now)

All it needs is to have its bottom blocked then 3 buttons added. I haven't picked out the buttons for it yet. But I have till Yule eve. This is a Yule gift for my MIL. She is always cold and wrapping things around her neck while at home. (we live in a 130+ year old house...its drafty.) I really hope she loves it!

This took all of 8 hours?Maybe! It was a very fast knit to say the least! Worsted yarn on size 9us needles.

Since I got that done so fast I decided to look for a hat to knit for my nephew.In my search I found Big Funky Hat. I am knitting it with Caron Simply Soft.(why yes!I do like this yarn!lol) I think this 17 y/o will like it. Hes a goof ball and likes odd looking things. More on this hat next entry. :)

So in the knitting world...What's on my Needles.

That is Through the Woods by Kalurah. I have completed 5 repeats of the cable section. I am using Caron Simply Soft held double in Autumn Red. So far I like it. But I am worried about having to pick up all those stitches. I am not great at picking up stitches. But maybe after this I will be great at it! lol

The One with an FO!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay. Life has been snooze land. Nothing exciting to report on my end so I just didn't blog.

The only good things are I got 2 new project bags.
I listed some Notion Bags and Project Bags in my Artfire shop this week.
At my knitting group this month someone brought in a box of yarn and offered it to all of us. (fun fur & acrylics)
I started back to Weight Watchers Tuesday.(Thanks to my MIL!)
I went and watched JackAss 3D. (it was Great!SO not for kids tho..more than the first 2 movies..this one has FULL nude male parts...upclose.x.x)

Other than that nothing exciting.

In the knitting world I am knitting a shawl. I am very close to done. I haven't told anyone what pattern it is so you will have to wait!
I am knitting my 16 y/o nephew a tie for Yule. (nothing but seed stitch x.x')

But I do have one FO hot off the needles! (as in just finished about 10 minutes ago!

Just your basic sock. I knit it following Silvers Sock Class for one sock on DPN's.I knit it with KnitWitch yarn and on two smaller sized 2 16" KnitPicks circulars.

My goal is to learn how to knit 2 pair at once on 1 circular needle. I bought a book for it last week.I am waiting for my needle to come from KnitPicks.It should be here any day now.

Wednesday WIP Day

Well I only have one WIP this week. But I can not show it. Why? Because its a gift for my friend and she might see it here! So I will tell you what i can about it.
It is being knit with purple yarn and she will love it! LOL Sorry that's all I can tell you about it with out telling you what it is. ;)

In other news. I have new items in my shop! YAY

There is washcloth sets and French Press Covers which are new to my shop. So stop on by and have a look around. You know Yule/Christmas is only 79 days away! So get what you like now before Yule/Christmas sneaks up on you and your caught out the day before Yule/Christmas looking for Aunt Sue something!

I have a few other items to list but I need to put finishing touches on some of them. So They will be listed next week. :)

Oops..Sorry about that!

Bad me. I took a bit longer to post this time. But I had a good reason! I have an infection and its making me all crazy. If I'm not very tired my legs are hurting. I can't win for losing.
